Why Conflict?

Why do people argue with each other? It is certainly an intriguing question, is it to prove yourself better than the other person with whom you are arguing? Or is it merely about trying to reach an understanding between two people. One thing is for certain we can not just avoid conflict altogether. Conflict is a natural part of the world, without conflict this world would not be what it is. Conflict means the freedom to opinion, now you may completely disagree with someone’s opinion and that is fine, but they have the right to have that opinion even if it is very wrong. Sometimes you may not be able to come to a solution to the issue at hand, maybe at the end you have to just accept that they are different from you and walk away. Sometimes your arguments are so pointless and just for fun anyways that you just forget about what you were arguing about. And yes, some people do enter into conflict for fun, playing sports is basically like entering into conflict for fun, as you battle it out with another team or person to prove you are better. Then you shake hands and move on. I know I have been in many arguments with many people, some have been dumb and pointless such as about who said what, or who agreed to something. Maybe even about what movie is better, or which hockey player is more talented. Those arguments can be playful and fun, but you eventually have to come to a resolution and usually you do. Then there are the arguments you can not come back from, after this, its over. You have to respectfully walk away and accept that there is no solution to this problem that will satisfy both parties. These conflicts are the most unfortunate, as it is ideal for all conflicts to have a solution that benefits both parties, but that is not always the case.
