How about a Monorail?

In this beloved clip from "The Simpsons" TV show the town of Springfield comes across a load of excess money and can't decide what to spend it on. Many ideas are pitched, most bad but Marge actually has a good idea that would help the town. But due to her lack of preparedness and wit, her pitch is not accepted. This is because another guy shows up with an even more flashy pitch and steals the towns vote. Even though the monorail ends up being a bad way to spend their money they choose this due to the way the idea was presented.
